GET FOCUSED, RECLAIM YOUR TIME, LIVE ON YOUR OWN TERMS

Helping high-earning corporate professional break free of the golden handcuffs to live more connected and purposeful lives

How I use A.I. to read smarter and re-wire my brain (steal my formula)

Do not buy another book before you read this article.

Because in this day and age, we have access to tools and technology that, if used strategically, completely changes the way we read and absorb new information.

As you may know, the information that you consume, your information diet, affects your brain at the subconscious level. Right now we’re in the midst of a brain-rot epidemic because, thanks to social media, there’s such an abundance of low-quality and short-format information that is changing most people’s perception of reality for the worst.

But if you are keen on being more intentional about information you consume, and especially if you appreciate the depth of information that comes from reading books (or consuming audiobooks), then you probably understand that the information you take in can alter your perceptions of reality for the better.

Reading and listening to audiobooks are both cognitive activities that induce neuroplasticity. Your brain literally forms new neural connections around the ideas that you are consuming.

So if you want to break out of self-destructive habits, or negative thought patterns, or you just want to be smarter and have deep knowledge about a topic that could change your life, then reading relevant material is a fundamental component in the brain-rewiring protocol.

But here’s the problem…

Most people, including myself, tend to read books in a very non-strategic way.

You probably buy a new book based on how you’re feeling at the moment, or maybe you were just browsing in a bookshop and saw an interesting title, or maybe you just asked someone to give you some book recommendations and you selected from one of those options.

There’s nothing wrong with this, especially if you’re just casually exploring new ideas, but relying on singular books as standalone sources of information is honestly not very groundbreaking. You’re rarely going to get a profoundly new perspective from a single book because let's be honest, they all generally say the same things.

If you are trying to break out of some negative patterns and self-destructive habits, or if you’re trying to change the way you live, then you’ll need to do more than just reading a book and hoping that it changes your life. If you’re trying to basically re-wire your brain to have mastery over certain concepts, or to change your habits, or to tap into different levels of awareness, then you will be far better off by reading and consuming information through a system that’s specifically designed to help you achieve that transformational change.

When I look back on my own life, I did this by accident during my own fitness transformation.

I didn’t just read one or two books about diet and exercise, and then implement what I learned from those books. Instead my natural curiosities led me down a rabbit hole of different topics ranging from anthropology, to evolutionary biology, and even human psychology, and it was the compounding effects of consuming a sequence of information sources over a period of time that completely shifted my perception of reality when it came to health and wellness.

I unintentionally immersed myself in a system for consuming information that reprogrammed my mind to the point where health and fitness became intuitive to me. The result is that I got into the best shape of my life without even lifting weights, or counting calories, or taking supplements or anything like that.

What I’ve learned from this is that if you want to fundamentally change your life, your best bet is to create an information or reading curriculum of sorts that alters your state of mind so that change becomes intuitive.

So I created a very simple system that replicates this process for the other aspects of my life that I’m trying to change, and I used artificial intelligence to help me do this.

So in this article I’m going to give you the reading system that I use to level up in different areas of my life. And I’m giving it to you for free so read until the end because if you also implement this system then I’m confident that you’ll also have the formula for re-wiring your own mind, altering your consciousness, and ultimately elevating your life in one way or another.

I do this through a simple A.I. prompt, but since you can just copy and paste it, rather than talking about the specifics of the prompt, I’m going to walk you through the series of questions and responses that the prompt will initiate in order to create a personalized reading curriculum.

For this, you can either use ChatGPT or you can use CerebriX, which is the custom GPT that I created specifically for mid-career professionals who are trying to take control over their lives and to finally start living on their own terms.

I fed the hundreds of essays that I’ve written over the years into it, so it’ll output very structured and detailed responses strictly based on the philosophies that I talk about here, rather than the generic responses that you might get from standard ChatGPT. So if you want to use CerebriX then you can access it here.

With that said….

Firstly I needed to find the right reading cadence.

I chose to go with a 12-month curriculum that suggests 24 books. That’s 2 books a month. I realize that might be a lot, because the median number of books read by a single individual is only about 4 books a year. But here’s the thing. If you’re serious about manifesting your life vision, and taking control of your life, then at some point you have to go into monk-mode, and lock in. And part of locking entails making a serious effort to aggressively consume new information. So I think 24 books over 12 months is very appropriate for what I’m trying to do here.

To get a relevant list of 24 books, I first need to feed it some information so it understands more about me, and I do this through a series of journal entries about my motivation for wanting a list of books in the first place, my vision for life, and what my current challenges are.

ree

I’m using my real life scenario for this example, so everything you’re seeing from this point on is related to my current goal of unlocking a deeper level of inner peace within my subconscious mind. Your goals will obviously be quite different, but this is the example I’m going with.

Now.. I don’t want to just give it a few journal entries and expect it to provide a quality list of books just yet. I want to really make sure that it is capturing the essence of whatever my challenge is and where I want to focus my reading over the next year. So I after the final journal entry it will synthesize my all of the entries into three overarching themes, and then prompt me to select the one that is best aligned with my vision.

ree

In this case I went with “Rewiring the Subconscious for Inner Peace & Focus.”

Now that I have a theme for my reading list, next up is defining my purpose. Your purpose does not need to be some super deep or philosophical thing. You don’t need to save the world. Your purpose is simply to overcome your most pressing life challenge at the moment. In other words, it is to solve your biggest problem in this chapter of your life.

In my journal entries I identified this problem, and so as prescribed by the free prompt that I’ve made available to you, ChatGPT or CerebriX will present three different purpose statements. I’ve selected the one that I think is most accurate. In this case my purpose statement is titled “The Alchemist of the Mind” and it’s basically about manifesting an outward reality through reprogramming the subconscious mind.

ree

Your purpose obviously will be very different. I’m a very philosophical person, so my purpose comes out that way. But your purpose could also be very practical like “getting out of debt” or “getting fit.” It does not need to be elaborate.

Now that my purpose (the problem that I’m solving for) is locked in, I need to set my north start by getting clear about my life vision, because I want to make sure that every book in my reading curriculum contributes to me being very intentional about building the specific lifestyle that I see myself living in the not so distant future.

ree

So at this point, I’m presented with another three options for my vision, and I select the most appropriate one which is all about living a lifestyle that is simple and naturally flows with minimal chaos or resistance. In this case I chose "The Flow Architect."

ree

I realize this might feel like a lot of work just for creating a list of books, but keep in mind that reading a full curriculum of 24 titles is actually a significant investment, financially, time-wise, and in terms of your information diet. So it’s vitally important to do some ground work so that you don’t end up going down a path that is misaligned with the life you want to create for yourself.

But at this point, most of the heavy lifting is complete.

However, there are some loose ends that we need to tie up, which brings me to the next step of defining your reader profile. I think it is quite beneficial to actually know more about your personality type (when it comes to reading at least) as well as your learning and reading style. It’s not necessarily actionable information, but it gives you additional context so you can be more mindful as you choose books in the future.

To trigger this process, I respond to this question which asks me to list all of the topics that I prefer, and then I get an output of my Reader’s Profile. As you can see my reader profile summarizes everything up to this point and then goes on to provide me with some details about the types of books I’d most likely benefit from reading.

ree

And finally I also get a customized curriculum of 24 titles broken out into four phases of “mindset”, “foundational knowledge”, “advanced knowledge” and “taking action,” along with an explanation of how each recommendation fits into my life vision.

ree

You’ll notice that this list is intentionally curated to walk me through a natural progression where each phase builds on top of the next to produce the compounding effects that I mentioned earlier. Because that is how you produce life breakthroughs, when you bring together an assortment of different ideas and perspectives to construct your own philosophy for life based on your unique circumstance rather than taking any one idea that somebody put out there and running with it.

There is one last thing however, which is that this list contains titles that I’ve already read, and so I need to swap them out for something different (unless I want to re-read them). So I’m asked if I want to replace any books on this list, and I respond with all books I want to swap out. It’ll provide me with alternatives and then it’ll repeat the question. This is a bit of an iterative process, but I do it a few times over until I have a complete list with no titles that I’ve already read, or just have no interest in reading.

ree

ree

And as an added bonus, I’m left with a few tips for better reading (or audiobook listening if that’s how you choose to consume your information).

So I’ll be reading all or most of the books on this list over the next year or so… and of course if things change then I can always return to this thread and give it some life updates and then have the list altered accordingly.

I just completed the first book on this list which is titled The Practicing Stoic, and I can say that it elaborated on some foundational principles of stoicism that have only left me even more motivated to really invest my time an energy into finding a greater sense of inner peace.

As I mentioned before, if you are interested in doing this exercise for yourself then you can just click here to download the free ChatGPT prompt that will trigger this whole process for you. Or if you want even better, and more detailed, results like the ones shown in this article then you can pick up a copy of CerebriX, which contains this prompt along with a database of many other prompts that you can use to start living more intentionally and creating the life that you’ve always wanted for yourself.

Lastly, I’m getting ready to release a 60-day self-reinvention program called "The Escape Algorithm" which will help you break free of the system that's keeping you trapped in a monotonous and unfulfilling life, and to finally start living on your own terms. So if you’re interested in learning more about that, then be sure to jump onto the waitlist to become a founding member.
